Full
Body Scan |
|
Cardiovascular disease and cancer are the two most common
causes of death in the United States, accounting for almost
3 out of every 4 deaths.
The Full Body Scan, performed in a matter of minutes,
screens for the presence of heart disease, certain cancers,
aneurysms of the aorta, as well as other abnormalities. |
| Early
detection = better recovery |
The purpose
of this test is to identify abnormalities and diseases at
an early stage. Studies have shown that early detection
of certain diseases may substantially increase the chance
of recover.
The Full Body Scan is a tool, if
used properly, which may ultimately increase your chances
of recovery through early detection.
The Full Body scan is a simple and painless procedure. An individual merely lies on the scanner table and within minutes multiple images are taken of the torso. A radiologist interprets the images to determine if there are any visible abnormalities.
The Full Body Scan includes a scan of the:
- heart
- lungs
- and following areas of the abdomen
- kidneys, liver, pancreas, thoracic aorta, abdominal
aorta, adrenal glands, lymph nodes, stomach, small bowel and spleen
The Full Body Scan may detect:
- early or advanced heart disease
- aneurysms of the aorta
- vascular disease
- lung tumors
- kidney and liver tumors
- calcified kidney stones
- and certain abnormalities of abdominal and certain pelvic
organs.

| Preparation: |
| The preparation
of this procedure includes eating lightly the night before
and day of scan. You will be asked to arrive two hours
before your scheduled appointment time and drink an oral contrast
for better visualization of your digestive system. |
| Why
EBT for a Full Body Scan? |
| Since a larger
area of your body is being imaged, the LIFETEST EBT scanner
captures exceptionally clear images at faster speeds which
exposes you to much less radiation than if you were to have
your full body scanned with a regular, mechanical CT scanner. |
